Todays topic du jour is my 20th birthday which happens to be tomorrow. Usually I am one of those people who has a countdown to their birthday, will celebrate for days if not weeks... however this year I'm just not feelin' it kids. I'm not a teenager anymore! Never will be again! I'm devastated. It's devastating.
Still excited for presents, cake and getting to say "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY BITCHES!" until my throat gets sore. But the whole 20 thing has really got me beat.

So the whole blogging everyday thing didn't quite work out. I'm such a mess.

Went to Townsville on the weekend for Groovin the Moo festival. It was awesome but Townsville wouldn't be all that high on places I'd like to visit again. We stayed at a hostel and anyone who knows me will vouch for the fact that I'm just not the hostel type. Oh well, it was an experience. I will post photos when I can be bothered getting my camera.

To live up to my resolve of blogging everyday no matter what the topic, I have decided to tell you about the fact that I made a potato bake tonight. I have been in bed all day with a horrible migraine which has now subsided, thanks in most part to panadol for migraines. I probably shouldn't be on the computer but it's so hard to stay away... Anyway back to the potato bake. For some reason while I was sleeping I had a dream about potato bake and felt the need to make it. I've never made it before though but it's in the oven at the moment and it's looking pretty good. I'll probably take a photo when it's done.

I bet this is the most exciting blog post you have ever read and I'm sure it makes you want to follow me right? Well even if it doesn't, you should anyway!

How amazing are these two girls! Major girl crush material.

I love Glee. I would have to put it in my top 5 tv series of all time, I can't get the songs out of my head!

I got a haircut a few weeks ago and I must say I'm pretty devastated. My hair was almost waist length and now it barely touches my shoulders. I really hate it when hairdressers just take their own lisence to ignore your requests and just basically do whatever they think will look good. Well I have news for you- IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD!! Everyone else thinks it looks great but I'm definitely not of that opinion. I miss having long hair and am absolutely thinking of extensions.

I struggle to find things to blog about, which is why I hardly ever update my blog but I really am trying! I just don't think I'm very interesting. Also for some reason I haven't been able to comment anyone lately so if you have commented me and I haven't replied it's not because I'm rude it's genuinely an issue with my internet.

I haven't been in the mood for posting much lately, and to be honest now is no exception but I thought I would share some pictures of myself and my boyfriend Luke that we took last night. The only reason he agreed to these photos was under the pretence that nobody else would ever see them but here they are, going up on the internet for the world to see- should the world choose to visit my blog of course.

I have been flat out with work and professional development courses and applying for other jobs and studying... It's all a bit crazy. So I've barely had time to breathe let alone blog. I will get back into it eventually but right now I have several assignments due on Monday which I really don't think I'm going to get done.

Also, I bought a keyboard (as in, electronic piano) on eBay and I'm beginning to think it's a really bad investment considering I don't play piano and never really have, except for a short foray into lessons at the ripe old age of 5. Although I did learn to play 'Mary had a little lamb' and have been impressing Luke with my rendition of that little number for the last week or so. I'd say the novelty will start to wear off for him soon though, and I will need to learn some other songs quick-smart. So my question to you is, do you know anywhere on the internet where I could get sheet music for free? I really don't want to pay for lessons or have to sell it, because it might be just the motivation I actually need to start learning to play as I've wanted to learn for ages...

An exciting discovery

Today, whilst looking around on the internet, (which is basically all I do these days since I had an appendectomy last week and am still recovering) I stumbled across a wonderful blog which made my heart soar- it's called All Laquered Up and it's written by a lady called Michelle who lives in Cleveland, Ohio and knows a heck of a lot about nail polish.

She inspired me to go and buy two nail polishes to start off my collection (I do have some colours at home, but I'd definitely like to expand). Anyway, here are the colours that I bought-

I'm so excited about both these colours as Alice in Wonderland is one of my favourite books and has been since I was very young, and The Wizard of Oz is a true classic and a movie that I have been in love with for as long as I can remember. I can't wait to recieve these in the mail and put them on!

ABOUT ME: I'm Olivia, which I think is a shit name but I suppose it's not as bad as some. I work in childcare. I recently got my appendix taken out. I have a boyfriend who is 20 and absolutely lovely. I have an addiction to the vintage clothing section on eBay. I generally smell like Coco Chanel or vanilla essence.

These are the four most interesting things about me:
1) I could read at the level of a 9 year old by the time I was 5, and yet this head-start has not really proven advantageous for my later life.
2) I have a tattoo on my lower back of the map coordinates of my birthplace.
3) I can count to ten in five languages.

Mirror Mirror On The Wall

Other peoples blogs make me feel very inadequate. Especially ones where people essentially do the same thing as me- that is just blog about their day to day lives. Possibly my day to day life is not very interesting or worth reading about. I would say that is the case, but what to blog about if so? And also, do I really care if people are reading my blog? Well yes I do because I think it appeals to the narcissist in me, it means people are interested in me and that's nice. I think that's just human nature. We're all a bit narcissistic, right?

But anyway I have decided that I'm going to learn how to sew. But I really don't think I would be very good at it because it does seem like a very involved process and my attention span is... *trails off*
You get the idea. So, to all my 11 followers- do any of you sew? Is it easy? What do you sew? Do you hand sew or use a sewing machine?

And in other news, I love these boots! This may not be a popular opinion but I'm not a huge fan of Doc Martins even though they're massively on-trend this season. I get the whole "feminine/masculine" thing with the pretty dresses and the Docs, but um... we're girls, why can't we just dress like girls?! They're just so huge and clunky, definitely one trend I do not get. These boots however are super cute and have that just right blend of tough and girlie which I adore. Definitely covetting these for summer, especially with bare legs and shorts/a mini.

Oh and another thing to add to my list of reasons why I can't wait for summer- water play at work! During summer we can put all different water play activities out for the kids and when it's hot there is nothing better than splashing around out in the sunshine. Unfortunately due to water restrictions we are not allowed to use the hoses which is a bit sucky but I'm sure we will make do. Bring on summer!

Today whilst Christmas shopping I bought Luke's sisters present, and my secret Santa present for work. I also bought the most adorable dress from MYER. It is 'French Kitty' and I'm so in love with it. I think I will wear it everywhere. When Luke gets home I will get him to take a photo of me wearing the dress and I'll post it along with a better picture of my tattoo.

Tomorrow I think Luke and I are going to White Water World which should be fun :) Can't wait til Summer really hits and we can start going to the beach. Other reasons why I can't wait for summer include- music festival season, a tan, new bikinis, barbeques, summer fruit- yum! and Christmas. Loveeee <3

I haven't blogged in a while again. I've been a bit sick actually :( but I am on the mend now and I have something exciting to tell you. I booked my tattoo for this Sunday! I can't wait. I will post pictures when it is done.

Although bitching about jobs and employers online is generally a really terrible idea, I'm going to do it a little bit anyway because my job is getting me down a bit. I whinge all the time about it to my friends at work and I think they're really getting sick of it, but it's upsetting me a lot and they're the only people who really understand. I'm not sure if I should stick it out and see if things start to get better, or just find another job. It's all very confusing.

This Friday night I went out with some friends from work and got very drunk which turned out to be a bit of a bad idea, as I spent the whole of Saturday recovering. Hola!

It's been a while since I had something to actually blog about, my life isn't very interesting really. Today is no exception. But it was a nice day. I worked in my mum's shop which is a gorgeous little gift shop in Cleveland called 'Unique Gifts'. You should definitely check it out if you live anywhere near the area, or even if you don't- it's worth the drive! It was my first time working in there on my own and I had a lovely time and met some really sweet people.

After that Luke and I went shopping and were going to buy a little pool for the hot summer days which will inevitably arrive soon. But we didn't buy one because I was concerned that it would become gross and stagnant because we wouldn't be able to filter it. When we got home I did a bit of collaging on canvas to hang up in my bedroom and then baked some brownies which turned out pretty perfect if I don't say so myself! Now Marinela is coming over to watch movies because her boyfriend Samuel is in New Zealand so I am happily friend-sitting her.

I'll tell you what though, I am absolutely exhausted! Tomorrow Luke and I are going out for breakfast and then he is playing golf with the boys and I will probably have a good long sleep.

Bonjour. Comment ça va?

Tonight dear readers, I am in a bad mood. Work is not going so well for me and I am getting bored with life. I want to travel so badly. Yes I've already been overseas and lived overseas but never as an adult. I'm ready to just leave this place behind and get away from everything for a while. Luke and I are planning a holiday to Europe for August next year which should be nice. I miss going overseas. Our plan is to do London, Paris and Rome in 3 weeks which should be easy- the hard part will be saving enough money for it to become a reality. But I'm confident that I can do it. I will probably have to put my wardrobe improvement plan on hold though, but if I save enough money I can spend some of it on clothes over there which should be good.

I probably shouldn't discuss the exact reasons for my current bad mood because it's work related and from experience, work and internet bitching do not a happy boss make. And these things always have a habit of getting back to bosses somehow. But to cut the story very short, I'm contemplating whether or not what I'm doing at the moment is right for me and if not, what I should do about it.

I saw a dress on the weekend that I like and I'll probably buy it this week seeing as it was only $50. On Saturday I bought a nice summer dress and some pyjamas (it's pyjama day at work on Friday) which I will probably post pictures of at some stage. And this Wednesday it's mine and Luke's 2 year anniversary. How the time has flown...

Well actually more like goodbye friday because it's nearly bed time. I'm going to bed early tonight cos I'm boring. Today was an alright day at work. Nothing exciting to report.
After work I went up to the pub with Luke and my sister and parents and we had a few drinks and had dinner which was really nice. I wanted to take some photos but didn't get around to it. Today Luke and I went to the Southbank Young Designers Markets. A couple of the designers I was impressed with were;

and I bought a headband from two lovely ladies and I'm ashamed to admit I don't remember the name of the label, but their headbands are devine! I hope they're at the next SYDM so I can get the name and I will post it here.

On Saturday we went to our friends' (Nikita and Chris) dogs 1st birthday party. He is a beautiful little pug named Ralph. We took our pug, Maurice, along with us and a fun time was had by all. Lucifer is also Nikita and Chris' dog (he is 12 weeks old, and absolutely massive) and Mac is Samuel's Silky Terrier. Here are some photos from the day, a wonderful time was had by all the dogs.

Also this weekend was Luke's grandma's birthday, so yesterday night we went up to Bribie Island to his grandparents house and had dinner with his whole family which was lovely. And my sister got home from a week in Melbourne with lots of beautiful new clothes and shoes which I'm looking forward to trying on!

The Most Boring Wardrobe

I've decided to just follow as many blogs as possible (only ones I'm actually interested in of course) in the hope that they will reciprocate. Not hinting... Okay maybe just a bit.

I really want to improve the contents of my wardrobe basically (hence the blog url), and I definitely need someone's help. I know what I like, but my problem is I like expensive- and I don't earn anywhere near enough to fund my tastes. I'm not one of those girls who has a natural sense of 'style', I just wear what I can afford and I guess I tend to look generic most of the time. This is one of the problems with being a bigger girl, it's hard to look amazing because clothes don't just hang off me like a coathanger. I want to start shopping in thrift and vintage stores and I'm also interested in new Australian designers. So this Sunday I'm going to go to the Southbank Young Designers market and have a look around, maybe buy some stuff, take some photos and I will definitely post here. If anyone reading knows of any cool local designers let me know so I can check them out. When I get more readers (I say 'when' and not 'if' because I'm hopeful that this will happen eventually) I will also start posting about unknown designers and fashion labels and give them a bit of free advertisement and coverage.
